Merende – afgeleid van het Italiaanse woord merenda dat zijn oorsprong vindt in het Latijnse merĕnda, ‘dingen die verdiend moeten worden’ – is een open queer zone, een mythisch feest dat voor het eerst in Brussel wordt georganiseerd. Trek je schoenen uit en geef jezelf over aan deze feestelijke mix van muziek, dans, manicures, tarotlezingen, politieke boodschappen en verrassingsperformances. Op de laatste vrijdag van het festival palmt Industria Indipendente het Festivalcentrum in met een onvergetelijke editie van Merende: een artistieke party, met onder meer een gastoptreden van Trajal Harrell. Merende – de l’italien, racine latine merĕnda : « ce qui se mérite » – est une zone queer ouverte, une fête mythique qui s'installe pour la toute première fois à Bruxelles. Ici, on enlève ses chaussures, on lâche prise, on laisse son corps se détendre et on danse sans retenue. Le mouvement côtoie les stands de manucure, les tirages de tarot, les bannières politiques et les performances impromptues.
